Julie joined the lab in September 2022 as a postdoctoral scholar, and she is now an Adjunct Assistant Professor. She is also an Assistant Professor of Sustainable Finance at the University of Waterloo.

Her research project aims to understand and facilitate the replication and scaling of a highly innovative Canadian financial product that applies finance for nature-based solutions. Her research has been funded by various organizations includingCarbon Solutions @ Western and the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA).

Her research interests include responsible investment and shareholder activism, specifically the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria, proxy voting and their role in the fight against climate change.

Outside the Lab, Julie likes to spend time outdoors trail running, hiking, canoeing, cross-country and nordic skiing among other things. She is also involved inAccounting for Impact.
