The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of October 2019 stood at 48.2. The corresponding figure for October 2018 was 61.8 and for October 2017 was 63.8.
The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for October 2019 stood at 47.2; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 45.6; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 45.1; and Prices were 57.0.
The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of October 2019 is 51.8; Employment 47.0; Inventories 49.3; Supplier Deliveries 45.6; and Prices 54.9.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of September 2019 stood at 48.7. The corresponding figure for September 2018 was 50.4 and for September 2017 was 59.6. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for September 2019 stood at 49.6; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 50.5; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 50.2; and Prices were 56.9.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?”
A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
