The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of September 2019 stood at 48.7. The corresponding figure for September 2018 was 50.4 and for September 2017 was 59.6.
The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for September 2019 stood at 49.6; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 50.5; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 50.2; and Prices were 56.9.
The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of September 2019 is 55.8; Employment 51.3; Inventories 52.1; Supplier Deliveries 51.3; and Prices 55.1.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of August 2019 stood at 60.6. The corresponding figure for August 2018 was 61.9 and for August 2017 was 56.3. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for August 2019 stood at 52.7; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 54.8; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 49.9; and Prices were 51.3.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?”
A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
