The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of January 2018 stood at 55.2. The corresponding figure for January 2017 was 57.2 and for January 2016 was 66.0.
The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for January 2018 stood at 56.5; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 58.4; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 46.4; and Prices were 66.6.
The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of January 2018 is 51.3; Employment 51.3; Inventories 55.1; Supplier Deliveries 45.3; and Prices 72.1.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of December 2017 stood at 60.4. The corresponding figure for December 2016 was 60.8 and for December 2015 was 49.9. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for December stood at 56.7; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 49.1; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 48.2; and Prices were 62.5.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?”
A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
