The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of September 2018 stood at 50.4. The corresponding figure for September 2017 was 59.6 and for September 2016 was 58.4.
The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for September 2018 stood at 51.6; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 51.8; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 47.5; and Prices were 68.8.
The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of September 2018 is 56.5; Employment 55.4; Inventories 54.9; Supplier Deliveries 48.1; and Prices 68.1.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of August 2018 stood at 61.9. The corresponding figure for August 2017 was 56.3 and for August 2016 was 52.3. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for August 2018 stood at 59.6; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 53.0; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 45.3; and Prices were 71.5.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?”
A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
