Director of the Ivey Purchasing Managers Index
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of December 2017 stood at 60.4. The corresponding figure for December 2016 was 60.8 and for December 2015 was 49.9.
The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for December stood at 56.7; Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 49.1; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 48.2; and Prices were 62.5.
The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of December is 49.3; Employment 52.8; Inventories 43.7; Supplier Deliveries 44.8; and Prices 59.4.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of November 2017 stood at 63.0. The corresponding figure for November 2016 was 56.8 and for November 2015 was 63.5. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for November stood at 53.9. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 60.1; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 45.8; and Prices were 67.7.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?”
A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
