The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of January 2017 stood at 57.2. The corresponding figure for January 2016 was 66.0 and for January 2015 was 45.4.
The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for January stood at 53.5. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 46.4; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 46.6; and Prices were 70.1.
The Ivey PMI unadjusted data for the month of January is 52.3; Employment 48.3; Inventories 46.0; Supplier Deliveries 45.7; and Prices 64.1
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (seasonally adjusted) by the end of December 2016 stood at 60.8. The Employment index (seasonally adjusted) for December stood at 51.7. Inventories (seasonally adjusted) 54.1; Supplier Deliveries (seasonally adjusted) were 45.9; and Prices were 73.8.
The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index shows responses to one question: "Were your purchases last month in dollars higher, the same, or lower than the previous month?”
A figure above 50 shows an increase while below 50 shows a decrease.
