Sonja Bruschetto
Research Assistant, Ivey Business School
Sonja is a research assistant at the Ian O. Ihnatowycz Institute for Leadership. With an educational background in psychology and health sciences, she is set to begin her post graduate studies in Health Sciences at Western University in September. Her research interests revolve around mindfulness, character, building resilience, and implementing preventive interventions and health/wellness promotion strategies.
As a certified facilitator of the Mindfulness Based Strengths Program (MBSP), Sonja showcases her expertise in integrating mindfulness practices with the development of personal strengths. She has honed her mindfulness skills through studies at the University of Toronto, and her dedication to evidence-based research is reflected in her completion of applied clinical research training at McMaster University. Additionally, Sonja has acquired training as a meditation teacher and positive psychology practitioner, empowering her to guide others in cultivating mindfulness and well-being.
In prior roles, Sonja accumulated valuable experience in both the private and public sectors. For example, she was a Tax Process Specialist with PwC, and served as a Planning and Project Coordination Officer at the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Her work experience has fostered her comprehensive understanding of organizational dynamics and nurtured a diverse skill set.
With a strong commitment toward bridging research and practice to enhance well-being and advocate for health promotion, Sonja is enthusiastic about leveraging her expertise to make a positive impact in organizations.
