Stephen Poloz (Chair)
Former Governor, Bank of Canada
Stephen S. Poloz, PhD ’82, was appointed Governor of the Bank of Canada in 2013 for a seven-year term, which ended on June 2, 2020. As Governor, he was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank. He first joined the Bank of Canada in 1981 and held increasingly senior positions over a 14-year span, culminating in his appointment as Chief of the Bank’s Research Department in 1992. He left the Bank for a career in the private sector and later joined Export Development Canada, where he served in a number of high-profile roles, including Chief Economist and President and CEO, before rejoining the Bank of Canada as Governor.
George Baran

George has over 20 years experience in the medical device industry. His responsibilities have included both business and technical leadership in the acquisition and development of novel medical device technologies. He has also been responsible for the pre-clinical marketing of new drug delivery technologies to medical opinion leaders and major pharmaceutical companies.This has included collaboration with business and clinical partners in the design and co-ordination of pre-clinical studies.
Perrin Beatty

Perrin Beatty, BA’71, LLD ’13, is President and CEO of the 200,000-member Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canada’s largest and most representative national business association. He also held a similar role with the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME). Beatty was elected to the House of Commons in 1972, and spent 21 years in Parliament, serving as Minister in seven different portfolios, including Treasury Board, National Revenue, Solicitor General, Defence, National Health and Welfare, Communications and External Affairs.

Thomas d’Aquino is an entrepreneur, corporate director, author and philanthropist. He is the Chairman of Thomas d’Aquino Capital, the Chairman and CEO of Intercounsel Ltd., and the Founding CEO of the Business Council of Canada. He is the Founding Chairman of the Lawrence National Centre for Policy and Management Advisory Council and is an Honorary Professor of Ivey Business School. He holds a number of honorary doctor of laws degrees including from Western University. He is the Canada Chair of the North American Forum and a Founding Director and Chairman Emeritus of the National Gallery of Canada. Each year, Ivey hosts the Annual Thomas d’Aquino Lecture on Leadership which is now in its 14th year. Mr. d’Aquino is a member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Ottawa.
Dave Forestell

Dave Forestell is the Vice President, Canadian Stakeholder Relations for TC Energy. Most recently, Dave served as the Vice President, International Corporate Commercial Banking at Scotiabank. He has held senior positions in government and private sector. He has worked overseas in Chile and Venezuela and speaks fluent Spanish. While in Chile, Mr. Forestell led corporate affairs and corporate social responsibility for several mining projects and served as Chair of a Joint Venture Board of Directors. He is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission and a Board Member on the Ontario College of Art and Design. Dave obtained his B.A. and LLB from Western University.
