Sohayla is a seasoned technology executive with over 30 years of experience leading strategy, business development and transformational technology initiatives in Canada’s telecommunication sector. She combines a broad strategic vision with technical expertise to enable adoption of cutting-edge solutions.
Most recently, Sohayla was Country Manager Canada, at Intelsat, now acquired by SES, operating the world’s largest integrated satellite-terrestrial network.
Previously, Sohayla held several leadership roles at Cisco Canada, Alcatel-Lucent and Nortel Networks. Her career began at Bell Canada as a Network Engineer and she has since led significant large scale deployments of transformational technologies in fixed & wireless networks, data centres and cloud migrations.
Sohayla is a Professional Engineer and a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Electrical Engineering program. She enjoys being involved with the adoption of leading-edge technologies that allow people to live, work and interact seamlessly. She remains engaged with Engineering and Business programs at Canadian universities, as a coach and mentor to the next generation of professionals who will shape the future of Canada.
