What is the Ivey Connects Community Internship Program?
The Ivey Connects Community Internship Program is designed to give business students greater awareness of how the community sector operates by giving them an opportunity to work over the summer for a not-for-profit organization in the Toronto or London regions. Non-profit organizations (NPOs) will gain strategic decision-making and implementation skills, and students will gain practical work experience.
The London Life Ivey Connects Community Internship Program began in 2005 and has funded 81 non-profit internships to date. In 2013, we were proud to announce the inaugural year of the Great-West Life, London Life & Canada Life Ivey Connects Community Internship Program in Toronto.
Who are Student Interns?
Student interns are third or fourth-year university students completing their Honours Business Administration (HBA) degree at the Ivey Business School, one of Canada’s top business schools. Previous work experiences from students range from accounting, marketing, finance functions, year-end reporting, and partnerships.

Timeline of Application Process
Applications for NPOs open Monday, August 15, 2022. Please submit your applications to iveyconnectsinternships@gmail.com by Friday, October 7, 2022 with CANADA LIFE INTERNSHIP as the subject line. Final decisions regarding NPO applicants awarded internship funding will be sent first in early October.
Internship opportunities will be posted on Ivey’s Career Management website in mid-October. All student applications will be forwarded to the non-profit contact to conduct interviews with candidates. Interviews will be conducted by your organization in late November, and candidates will be notified of their application status by early December. An additional interview period in early January can be added at the NPO’s discretion. The NPO has direct control over the method of the interview process, with support from Ivey’s Career Management. Please note the timeframe of the deliverables and ensure your NPO is able to commit to these mandatory dates.
