DAVID SHARP IN KATHMANDU, NEPAL

 

The first workshop in the 39 Country Initiative Case Teaching Workshops Series in Nepal was held at the Global College Seminar Hall in Kathmandu on April 4th. David Sharp from Ivey Business School lead a well-attended half-day workshop on the Case Teaching Workshop at the Global College of Management (GCM). This workshop was jointly organized by RMC, Global College International and presided over by the principal of Liberty College, Devraj Paneru, who invited 70+ faculty members from GCM, Tribhuvan University, and Liberty College.

The 39 Country Initiative organized two case teaching workshops in Cambodia in February 2025. The half-day workshops were held at the National University of Management and at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Professor Andrew Delios introduced over 100 faculty members and students to the 39 Country Initiative and to the case teaching method. RUPP invited professors from ACLEDA University of Business (AUB), the Asia Euro University (AEU) and the National University of Battambang (NUB).

ALBERT WOCKE LEADING CASE TEACHING WORKSHOPS IN LESOTHO

 

The 39 Country Initiative visited Maseru, Lesotho in February 2025. The full-day workshop was held at the National University of Lesotho. Professor Albert Wocke met with Vice Chancellor Prof Fajana, Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, Peter Khaola, and Head of Department, Douglas Musiiwa, and invited representatives from various departments of six Institutions of higher learning in Lesotho.

July 2024

Arrival of a container shipment of 12,000+ books to Bangladesh.

 

Faculty and students at Ivey and other institutions donated over 500 boxes of educational material. After sorting, 480 boxes were shipped to the University of Chittagong in Bangladesh, as part of the 39 Country Initiative. Thank you to Professor Md Helal Uddin Nizami, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at University of Chittagong for coordinating the safe arrival of the shipment and furthering the reach of the 39 Country Initiative in Bangladesh. Special thanks to Peter Voyer at the University of Windsor and his team of volunteers, as well as to Sean Chen, John Mihalo at University of Windsor for over 100 boxes of books, and visiting Professor Lucas Wang, Melissa Judson, Romel Mostafa and Stephanie Scanlan and the many volunteers at Ivey.

The volunteers in Bangladesh worked into the night to unload their shipment. Dean Nizami is grateful for the large shipment of books, cases, journals, and course packs.

JUNE 2024

PROFESSOR CHARLES DHANARAJ VISITS LUSAKA, ZAMBIA

 

The 39 Country Initiative organized three case teaching workshops in Zambia in June 2024. The half-day workshops, held in three business schools in Lusaka, introduced over 70 faculty members to the 39 Country Initiative and to the case teaching method.

Arrival of 10 000+ books and journals to Lahore, Pakistan (LUMS)

April 2023

The Saint Louis Team collected, catalogued, packed, shrink wrapped and shipped 9584 books and 820 journals issues to Lahore, Pakistan.

Saint Louis University podcast features 39 Country Initiative founder Paul Beamish 

November 2023

While visiting Saint Louis University to accept an award honouring his 39 Country Initiative, Ivey Professor and 39 Country Initiative founder Paul Beamish was invited to speak with Todd Hovermale, host of SLU International Business Now. The resulting podcast, The 39 Country Initiative: Improving Global Access to Educational Materials, covers case study accessibility in countries with a per capita GDP of less than $2,000 USD a year, how the project originated and developed into the wide-reaching initiative that it is today, and the needs and goals of the 39 Country Initiative moving forward.

Faculty and students at Saint Louis University send shipment of 10,000+ books to LUMS, Pakistan

April 2023

Five years after taking on the mission, the Boeing Institute of International Business has collected and shipped over 10,000 books to the Lahore University of Management Science (LUMS) in Pakistan, as part of the 39 Country Initiative. The video below shows only a small fraction of the coordination and manpower that goes into each shipment.

Thank you to BIIB Director Hadi Alhorr for spearheading this project and furthering the reach of the 39 Country Initiative.

Benin Workshop on Ivey Cases and the 39 Country Initiative

July 2023

Ivey Prof. Elie Chrysostome travelled to the African country of Benin to host an information session for area business school deans in July, 2023. During this session the participants discussed the 39 Country Initiative and the availability of Ivey Publishing's cases at no cost for those in the 39 countries. The many benefits of teaching with cases were also highlighted, and an overview of some of the cases that might be of particular interest to students in Benin was given.
