Ivey Scholarships and Awards are available to our HBA students during the course of the program, from admission to convocation. The recipient selection is extremely competitive due to the high calibre of students admitted to the Ivey HBA Program.

The award finder tool below provides an overview and brief description of each award and category available to our students.  Please note while we try our best to maintain the accuracy of this website, the information is subject to change. The HBA Admission Award application is within the "Apply for Awards" section in the HBA application and AEO2 Intent to Register. There is not a separate application for these awards.

Merit ScholarshipsMichael & Stefanie Block HBA AwardAwarded annually to one student in HBA1, as well as one student in HBA2 at Ivey, who have been consistent and valuable contributors to classroom discussions, and the learning and development of their peers. The recipients must have a minimum average of 80%. In March of each year the HBA Program Office at Ivey will solicit nominations from both faculty and classmates, and the recipients will be selected by the HBA Scholarship Committee. The HBA1 recipient will be announced and awarded at Ivey's Fall Welcome Back event, and the HBA2 recipient will be announced and awarded at convocation. Merit ScholarshipsNovacap Women in Finance ScholarshipAwarded annually to a self-identified woman who is a full-time student and has completed Year 1 of the HBA program at the Ivey Business School. The recipient will have an interest in the financial services industry, preferably in the asset or wealth management field, and will have received a minimum final grade of 78% in the HBA1 Finance course. An influencing factor in the selection of the recipients should be their varied work and/or extracurricular experience in the investment industry. To be considered, candidates must submit a short statement by October 31. Eligible applicants include Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students. The HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. At a Donor’s request, recipients will have the opportunity to interview for an employment placement with Novacap. Financial Need and Merit AwardsPeter Powell Class of 1959 AwardsAwarded to students in first year of the HBA program. The award, which will continue into their second year, is available to students with acceptable academic achievement coupled with demonstrated initiative, who require financial assistance. Established by the Class of 1959 through Foundation Western in memory of a distinguished member of that class, Peter K. Powell. 1 @ $1,400 continuing$1400
EntrepreneurshipPierre L. Morrissette HBA Award in EntrepreneurshipAwarded to a full-time HBA student who is enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Certificate Program. In addition to illustrating outstanding academic quality, the successful applicant will have expressed a strong interest in entrepreneurship and been accepted through Ivey's Advanced Entry Opportunity (AEO). The HBA Scholarship Committee will select the award recipient in consultation with the Pierre L. Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship. This award was established by Landmark Communications, Inc. in honour of Pierre L. Morrissette.$7900
Merit ScholarshipsPOMC Undergraduate AwardAwarded to a student in HBA 2 who has shown distinguished performance in the HBA 1 Operations Management Course at the Ivey Business School. The HBA Scholarship Committee, in consultation with the faculty teaching the first-year Operations Management course, will make the final selection of the recipient. Preference will be given to a student who has enrolled in one or more HBA2 Operations electives. This award was established by the participants in the 1984 POMC course. $500
Merit ScholarshipsProfessor Attilio and Maria Braga 125th Anniversary Alumni ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student entering HBA Year 1 in their third year at Western, based on academic achievement (minimum 80% overall admission average). In addition, the recipient must be an Advanced Entry Opportunity (AEO) student and have obtained the highest average in 2.0 undergraduate Science credits at the 300 or 400 level at Western as compared to any other AEO student admitted to HBA Year 1. $1800
Merit ScholarshipsProfessor David G. Burgoyne HBA '90 ScholarshipAwarded annually to a student entering HBA1 or HBA2 based on academic achievement and demonstrated community leadership. This scholarship was established by a generous gift from the HBA Class of 1990 in memory and honour of their late professor David G. Burgoyne, and in recognition of their 20th Class Reunion. $10000
Merit ScholarshipsRaymond L McFeetors Scholarship in Honors Business AdministrationAwarded to a full-time undergraduate student of outstanding quality entering the Honors Business Administration Program at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement in their first two years of their program at Western (minimum criterion of 80% entry average). The scholarship will be tenable in first year of the HBA program, and renewable to second year based upon the maintenance of a minimum average of 80%. The recipient will be selected by the HBA Scholarship and Awards Committee at the Ivey Business School. This scholarship was established by Raymond L. McFeetors (President & CEO of Great-West Life and London Life) to commemorate his term on Western's Board of Governors. 1 awards @ $700 continuing$700
Financial Need and Merit AwardsReg Jackson HBA Entrepreneurship AwardAwarded annually to a full-time student entering the HBA program at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement, community leadership, interest in entrepreneurship and/or family business, and who has demonstrated financial need. Where possible, preference will be given to a student from the St. Mary’s or Stratford communities, or from Huron or Perth counties. The HBA Awards Committee will select the recipients after the Office of the Registrar assesses financial need. The award will be renewed for HBA2 provided the student remains a full-time student and continues to meet the award criteria. Financial Need and Merit AwardsRise HBA Awards in Resilient Leadership for Black Students Awarded annually to a full-time student entering the HBA Program at the Ivey Business School. The award will be given to an equity-deserving student who self-identifies as Black and who demonstrates community leadership and academic achievement. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated financial need. The HBA Awards Committee will select the recipients after the Office of the Registrar assesses financial need. The award will continue to HBA 2 provided the recipient successfully completes HBA 1 and continues to demonstrate financial need. 2 @ $9,500 continuing$9500
Financial Need and Merit AwardsRise HBA Awards in Resilient Leadership for Indigenous Students Awarded annually to a full-time student entering the HBA Program at the Ivey Business School. The award will be given to an equity-deserving student who self-identifies as an Indigenous* Learner and who demonstrates community leadership and academic achievement. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated financial need. Ivey’s HBA Scholarship Committee will work in consultation with Western’s Office of Indigenous Initiatives to review and recommend Indigenous applicants. The HBA Awards Committee will select the recipients after the Office of the Registrar assesses financial need. The award will continue to HBA 2 provided the recipient successfully completes HBA 1 and continues to demonstrate financial need.*Indigenous refers to the Original People of Turtle Island (North America) including First Nations, Métis and Inuit people of Canada as well as Native American, Native Alaskan, and Native Hawaiian people from the United States. 1 @ $10,000 continuing$10000
Merit ScholarshipsRobert V. Hicks AwardAwarded annually to a student enrolled in the HBA program with high academic standing and a career interest in Human Resource Management. Established by the generosity of the partners at Hicks Morley Hamilton Stewart Storey in honour of Robert V. Hicks upon his retirement from the firm. $3300
Merit ScholarshipsRogers Family Award in BusinessAvailable to a full-time undergraduate student entering the first year of study at the Ivey Business School following two years or more of study in any faculty at Western University based on academic achievement. Preference will be given to the student who has demonstrated the greatest increase in his or her annual academic average between the first year of university study and completion of the second year of university. Candidates must also demonstrate an aptitude for creative and innovative thought, exceptional achievement in extracurricular activities and commitment to active citizenship. EntrepreneurshipRon and Nancy Clark HBA Entrepreneurship AwardAwarded annually to a student enrolled in HBA 2 at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement, a strong interest in entrepreneurship and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who have an interest in family or small business. The Office of the Registrar will determine financial need eligibility and the HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. This award was established through a generous gift from the The Ron and Nancy Clark Foundation. 3 @ $10,400$10400
EntrepreneurshipSabourin Family HBA Scholarship in EntrepreneurshipAwarded to a full-time undergraduate HBA Student who is applying for acceptance into the Certificate in Entrepreneurship stream. The recipient will be selected based on who best personifies the spirit, passion and drive necessary to become a successful entrepreneur. A shortlist of potential award recipients will be determined by the Director of the Pierre L. Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship based on the Entrpreneurship Certificate Stream application forms. The HBA Scholarship Review Committee will select the award recipient in consultation with the Director of the Pierre L. Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship. This scholarship is made possible through a donation from Mr. Paul Sabourin, MBA '80, through Foundation Western.$12500
Merit ScholarshipsSamson-Williamson HBA AwardAwarded annually to a student, who self-identifies as a woman, at the Ivey Business School who is pursuing a dual-degree. The recipient will be a Canadian Citizen who demonstrates extra-curricular involvement and who graduated from a publicly funded high school. The HBA Scholarship Review Committee will make the final selection of the recipients. Financial Need and Merit AwardsSamuel A. Martin AwardAwarded to a student enrolled in the fourth year of the HBA Program at the Ivey Business School. The award will be given on the basis of financial need and a demonstrated contribution to social, athletic and academic activities related to the HBA program.$1200
Financial Need and Merit AwardsScotiabank Continuing HBA Award (OSOTF)Awarded annually to a full-time student entering the Honors Business Administration program at the Ivey Business School. The award will be given to an equity-deserving student who self identifies as a visible minority and who has demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate community leadership and academic achievement. The award will be renewed for Year 2 students who continue to meet the award criteria. The Office of the Registrar will determine financial need eligibility and the HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. This award was established through a generous donation from Scotiabank. This award is offered through the Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund (OSOTF) program, and recipients must meet Ontario residency requirements. 4 @ $10,000 continuing$10000
Merit ScholarshipsScotiabank HBA 1 AwardAwarded annually to full-time students entering the Honours Business Administration program (HBA1) at the Ivey Business School. This award will be given to an applicant who self-identifies as Black. Preference will be given to students who have an interest in pursuing a career in the financial services industry in Canada or Latin America. Merit ScholarshipsScotiabank HBA2 In Program AwardAwarded annually to full-time students entering their second Year of the Honors Business Administration program (HBA2) at the Ivey Business School who have an interest in pursuing a career in the financial services industry in Canada or Latin America. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ways in which they embrace competencies important to Scotiabank, including the following: a fast and effective problem solver (applies intellect to identify and pull key levers); and, curious and drives innovation (brings creative, diverse ideas to enable continuous improvement and constantly raise the bar). Interest in the financial services industry and demonstration of Scotiabank’s competencies will be measured by each candidate’s response to a short essay question. The HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. This award is made possible through the generosity of Scotiabank. 2 @ $15,000$15000
