Ivey Scholarships and Awards are available to our HBA students during the course of the program, from admission to convocation. The recipient selection is extremely competitive due to the high calibre of students admitted to the Ivey HBA Program.

The award finder tool below provides an overview and brief description of each award and category available to our students.  Please note while we try our best to maintain the accuracy of this website, the information is subject to change. The HBA Admission Award application is within the "Apply for Awards" section in the HBA application and AEO2 Intent to Register. There is not a separate application for these awards.

Merit ScholarshipsArthur Cockfield Class of 1990 AwardAwarded to a full-time HBA2 student at the Ivey Business School who is in their first year of the HBA/JD dual degree program, based on academic achievement and community leadership. The recipient will be a domestic student. Students will be selected by the HBA Program Office for the HBA/JD dual degree program based on their acceptance into the program. The HBA Scholarship Review Committee will make the final selection of the recipients. This scholarship was established with a generous gift from friends, classmates and colleagues in honour of Arthur Cockfield to provide direct support for extraordinary students pursuing the HBA/JD dual degree. Arthur Cockfield received his Business degree at the Ivey School of Business at Western University, obtained his law degree from Queens in 1993 and completed his doctoral studies in law at Stanford University. He was a Law Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Policy at Queens University, and one of the world’s leading Tax Law scholars. Value: 1 at $3,300, awarded annually$3300
Convocation AwardsA.R. Wood HBA Award Awarded to an HBA student with outstanding academic achievement in the HBA 1 Operations Management Course. Preference will be given to a student taking an Operations elective in HBA 2. The successful recipient will be selected by the HBA Scholarship Committee in conjunction with Operations Faculty. This award was made possible by a generous gift from Professors Albert R. and Vivian Wood through Foundation Western.$1800
Merit ScholarshipsAccenture HBA AwardAwarded annually to a full-time student entering HBA 1 at the Ivey Business School based on academic achievement and demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities such as professional, school, social or community organizations, sports or part-time employment. Preference will be given to an individual who has an interest in pursuing a career in consulting. The HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the award recipient. This award was established with a generous gift from Accenture Inc.$1400
Convocation AwardsAdam Wiseman Memorial AwardAwarded annually to an HBA 2 student at the Ivey Business School at the end of their second year of the program. This student has demonstrated an enthusiastic attitude and approached class discussions with humour, intelligence and tenacity. This student exhibited a fearless willingness to engage in good hearted and spirited debate and made substantial contributions to class discussions which enlivened and enhanced the learning atmosphere for their Section. The recipient will be nominated by their peers and selected by the HBA Scholarship Selection committee.$3600
Financial Need and Merit AwardsAinslie Simmonds HBA '92 & Mark Manley MBA '03 AwardAwarded to a full-time HBA2 student at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to candidates who are registered in the HBA Sustainability Certificate. Online financial assistance applications are available through Student Center and must be submitted by September 30. The Ivey Business School will select the recipients after the Office of the Registrar has assessed the financial need. This award was established by a generous gift from Ainslie Simmonds (HBA 1992) and Mark Manley (MBA 2003). Value: 1 at $1,200 awarded annually$1200
Merit ScholarshipsAtlantic Canada HBA AwardAwarded to a full-time student entering HBA1 at the Ivey Business School based on academic achievement and who has graduated from a high school in an Atlantic Province (Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island). The HBA Awards Committee will select the recipient. The award will be renewed in HBA2 provided that the recipient maintains a 70% average. This award was established with a generous gift from Kerry Bennett (HBA '96) and Matthew Bennett (HBA '96). 1 award @ $6,000, awarded annually, continuing for two years. $6000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsBarnes Family HBA1 AwardAwarded annually to an HBA 1 student at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement, community leadership and demonstrated financial need. Online financial assistance applications are available through Student Center. The Office of the Registrar will determine financial need eligibility and the HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. This award was established with a generous gift from Gary Barnes (HBA ’67), and the Barnes Family Charitable Foundation. $12500
Financial Need and Merit AwardsBarnes Family HBA2 AwardAwarded annually to an HBA 2 student at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement, community leadership and demonstrated financial need. Online financial assistance applications are available through Student Center. The Office of the Registrar will determine financial need eligibility and the HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. This award was established with a generous gift from Gary Barnes (HBA ’67), and the Barnes Family Charitable Foundation. $12500
Convocation AwardsBob Britney HBA PrizeAwarded to a student completing the second year of the HBA Program who has exhibited a strong interest in the field and academic success in Operations Management. Selection of the student will be made by the Operations Management faculty. $1000
Merit ScholarshipsBrigadier F.C. Wallace HBA ScholarshipAwarded annually to a full-time student entering HBA 1 at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement and demonstrated community leadership. This scholarship is made possible by a bequest from the Brigadier F.C. Wallace & Vera Isobel Wallace (BA'32) estate held with Foundation Western. $10000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsBruce Birmingham HBA Award OSOTFAwarded to a student entering their first year of the HBA Program based on financial need and minimum 'B' average. The award will be renewed for year two for students maintaining the defined criteria in HBA year one. If a student does not meet these requirements, year two students will have an opportunity to apply for this award. The award section within the AEOI/HBA application considers candidates for all Ivey HBA Admission scholarships. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award. This award is made possible in recognition of a generous donation made by Bruce Birmingham, Chair of The Ivey Campaign, through Foundation Western. Student must meet Ontario residency requirements. 1 @ $1,500 continuing$1500
Financial Need and Merit AwardsBusiness Leader Dinner HBA BursaryAwarded to full-time HBA1 students at the Ivey Business School based on financial need. Preference will be given to a first-generation student. Online financial need assistance applications are available through Student Center and must be submitted by October 31. The Office of the Registrar will select the recipients. Value: 10 at $10,000$10000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsCanadian Century HBA AwardAwarded to a student entering HBA1 at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. The Office of the Registrar will determine financial need and the HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. This award was established through the generosity of Western alumni.$4100
Merit ScholarshipsCaptain Jack Birnie Smith AwardAwarded to a student entering the Senior Year (HBA2) of the Honors Business Administration Program who displays an active part in School activities and has maintained a high academic performance. The Ivey Financial Aid Office will electronically communicate the Ivey HBA in-program award applications. There is not an individual award application for this scholarship.$1000
Merit ScholarshipsCarol Stephenson HBA STEM Leadership AwardAwarded to full-time undergraduate students in HBA1 at the Ivey Business School who are planning to pursue an HBA degree combined with a degree in a STEM program, based on academic achievement. Preference will be given to candidates who are self-identified women. The award will continue in Years 4 and 5 of the combined HBA/STEM degree provided recipients maintain a minimum 70% average and full-time status in an eligible combined degree. If a recipient does not retain their continuing award, a replacement recipient from the same year may be selected. The Ivey Business School will select the recipients. Financial Need and Merit AwardsCaroline Brohman Memorial AwardAwarded to a full-time student of outstanding quality entering the Honors Business Administration Program based on academic achievement (minimum 78% average) and demonstrated financial need. The award will continue in HBA 2 provided the student maintains an average of 75% or higher and financial need. The award section within the AEOI/HBA application considers candidates for all Ivey HBA Admission scholarships. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award. This award was established by gifts from the family and friends of Caroline Brohman (HBA '91) and the Class of HBA '93, through Foundation Western. This Award is offered through the Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund (OSOTF) program, and recipients must meet Ontario residency requirements. 1 @ $13,000 Continuing$13000
Merit ScholarshipsClaude Lamoureux HBA ScholarshipsAwarded to full-time HBA students at the Richard Ivey School of Business based on academic achievement (minimum 80% average) and demonstrated community leadership. Preference will be given to students who have graduated from a publicly-funded high school. Applications for these scholarships must be submitted to the HBA Programs Office by January 31. The HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipients. These scholarships were made possible by gifts from Claude Lamoureux's friends and colleagues in recognition of Claude's commitment to excellence. 6 @ $10,000$10500
Financial Need and Merit AwardsCPA Ontario Student AwardAwarded to an HBA 2 student with an interest in pursuing a CPA designation, based on outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated financial need and an Ontario resident. Online financial need applications are available through Student Center. Financial need will be determined by the Office of the Registrar and the recipient will be selected by the Ivey HBA Scholarship Committee. Established through the generosity of CPA Ontario.$9000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsDavid S. Simmonds HBA Award OSOTFAwarded to a student entering their first year of the HBA Program based on financial need and minimum 'B' average. The award will be renewed for year two for students maintaining the defined criteria in HBA year one. If a student does not meet these requirements, year two students will have an opportunity to apply for this award. The award section within the AEOI/HBA application considers candidates for all Ivey HBA Admission scholarships. There is not a separate award application for this scholarship. This award was established with a generous gift from Daniel Devlin, HBA '81 and Michael Tevlin, HBA '81.$10000
