Shengwen Li

Shengwen Li is an Assistant Professor of International Business at the Ivey Business School, Western University. Her primary research interests focus on global value chain governance and social justice in low-income countries. Her dissertation examines the impact of third-party interventions—led by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and local communities—on empowering women and reducing gender-based violence in the "first mile" of global value chains. In terms of method, she specializes in experimentation and survey research.

Her work has been published in the Journal of World Business and presented at prestigious conferences, including the Academy of Management (AOM), the Academy of International Business (AIB), the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC), and the European International Business Academy (EIBA).

Shengwen has over six years of experience working in the non-profit sector, where she deepened her commitment to addressing real-world challenges and achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) through innovative and collaborative strategies.
