Tima Bansal

Tima Bansal serves as a Professor of Sustainability and Strategy at Ivey Business School  

Leading Innovation North, Tima is at the forefront of redefining business innovation to foster better companies and a more resilient, prosperous, and sustainable society. She founded the Network for Business Sustainability and Ivey’s Centre for Building Sustainable Value. Presently, she chairs the Board of the United Nation’s Principles for Responsible Education and the Impact Committee for the venture capital firm, Shift4Good.

Her research focuses on the intersection of business strategy and sustainability, with publications in prestigious journals like the Academy of Management Journal and the Strategic Management Journal. She has also co-edited two books on business and the environment and writes a column for Forbes.com. Tima’s work is frequently cited in mainstream media such as The Globe and Mail, the Wall Street Journal, and The Guardian. 

Tima's academic contributions have earned her numerous awards. She is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Business Sustainability and has been recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Academy of Management. Her accolades include the Hellmuth Prize from Western University, the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Organizations and Natural Environment division, and she is the first Canadian honored as a Faculty Pioneer for Academic Leadership by the Aspen Institute in Washington, D.C. Tima holds honorary doctorates from the University of Hamburg, Université de Montréal, and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and she maintains affiliations with both the University of Cambridge and Monash University.
