Growing up as a female child, in a part of the world where most parents considered a female to be of lower value than their male counterparts and being the only women with three (3) male siblings, I had uncommon support and an unbiased upbringing, devoid of any prejudice from my family or friends. I grew up to be a strong and confident woman who advocates for gender equality among other things. I started my journey into the EDI space in my undergraduate when I became a member of a Non-Governmental Organization called Junior Chambers International – a platform that gave me the needed support and voice to reach a broader demographic.
My love for critical thinking led me to a career in consulting. I started my career at KPMG and later joined Deloitte. At both organizations I was actively involved in the EDI initiatives and helped strategize on how to bridge the gap between management and employees. Being the VP EDI for the MBAA gives me the opportunity to advocate for everyone especially those identified as minorities and marginalized groups both internally and externally at Ivey. Currently, I am a mentor at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of London where I mentor and support young students as they go through life.
